Join the next generation of Michigan leaders for the 2015 Michigan Young Professionals Network Statewide Conference! This annual conference provides a forum for young professionals from across the Great Lakes State to connect, build relationships, and exchange ideas around leading topics. The theme of this year's conference is Strategic Communication, focusing on the practices which enable businesses to create and distribute consistent communications that reinforce the organizational message and brand.
Employees and employers in all industries can benefit from an improved knowledge of strategic communication to grow their businesses. The purpose of this conference is to provide attendees with access to well-known, successful keynote speakers and expert education session presenters, including leaders and CEOs at top Michigan corporations, as well as award-winning university professors.
CMU Leadership Institute Session Model
What makes this conference stand out from all the rest? Most conferences provide educational and motivational keynote addresses and breakout sessions, but this conference incorporates a third professional development component.
The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce partners with the CMU Leadership Institute, led by Institute Director Dan Gaken, to incorporate an adaptation of the CMU Leadership Institute model. The Institute Session model provides young professionals an arena in which to connect with other young pros at the conference from around the state who work in the same field or industry, fostering valuable connections. Participants at this spring’s YPN Statewide Conference will enroll in an “Institute” based on their primary field of work.
Each Institute is comprised of three engaging workshops held over the course of the conference. Throughout these workshops, Institute Session leaders will teach relevant personal communication processes, which in the end will form a toolkit that attendees can physically take away and apply in their own workplaces.
Young professionals will not only have a fun time networking and socializing at this conference, after having completed the education and Institute sessions, they will leave with a personal communication toolkit and an increased understanding of strategic communication to enhance business operations in their field. In addition, they will have established business relationships with an invaluable network of colleagues from around the state.
